Creating a home you love should feel exciting—not overwhelming. At M Interior Design, you'll be guided through a clear, collaborative process from our first conversation to the final styling touches. Every project is tailored to your lifestyle, vision, and budget, ensuring a home that is both beautiful and functional.

Step 1 | Complimentary Discovery Call

Every project begins with a complimentary 15-minute discovery call.

This is an opportunity for us to discuss your project, understand your goals, answer any questions you may have, and determine how M Interior Design can best support you. If we're the right fit, we'll outline the next steps and book your initial consultation.

Step 2 | Initial In-Home Consultation

 

During your in-home consultation, we'll take the time to understand how you live, what inspires you, and what you'd like to achieve within your space.

 

We'll discuss:

• Your lifestyle and functional needs

• Your design style and preferences

• Budget expectations

• Project scope and timeline

• Existing furniture you'd like to retain

• Opportunities and challenges within the space

Following the consultation, you'll receive a personalised Fee Proposal outlining the recommended services and investment.

Step 3 | Fee Proposal & Service Agreement

​

Once you're ready to move forward, you'll receive a detailed Fee Proposal together with your Residential Interior Design Service Agreement.

​

To secure your project, simply:

• Review and accept the proposal

• Sign the Service Agreement

• Pay the required deposit

Once these steps are complete, your project will be scheduled and the design process begins.

Step 4 | Design Brief & Site Measure

​

We'll gather all the information needed to create a design that's uniquely tailored to your home.

​

This stage may include:

• Site measurements

• Existing floor plan review

• Photography of the space

• Design questionnaire

• Inspiration images

• Budget confirmation

This ensures every design decision is based on a clear understanding of your goals.

Step 5 | Concept Design

​

This is where your vision starts to take shape.

​

We'll develop a personalised concept that captures the look, feel, and functionality of your future space, which may include:

• Design concept

• Mood board

• Colour palette

• Material and finish selections

• Furniture direction

• Lighting concepts

• Styling inspiration

You'll have the opportunity to review the concept and provide feedback before we move into the detailed design stage.

Step 6 | Design Development

With your approved concept, we'll refine every detail to create a cohesive and practical design.

Your design package may include:

• Furniture layout plans

• Space planning

• Furniture selections

• Lighting recommendations

• Flooring selections

• Paint specifications

• Window furnishing recommendations

• Joinery concepts (where applicable)

• Material schedules

• Decorative styling recommendations

Up to two rounds of revisions are included to ensure the design reflects your vision.

Step 7 | Final Design Presentation

Once the design has been finalised, you'll receive a comprehensive presentation containing everything you need to confidently bring your project to life.

• Final design presentation

• Floor plans

• Furniture layouts

• Mood boards

• Colour palette

• Material specifications

• Curated shopping list

• Styling recommendations

• Implementation guide

Step 8 | Procurement & Project Support (Optional)

If you would like additional assistance, M Interior Design can provide ongoing support throughout your project.

Optional services may include:

• Procurement assistance

• Liaising with builders and trades

• Site visits

• Project coordination

• Installation support

Step 9 | Styling & Project Completion

​

The final stage is all about bringing your space together.

Once furniture, lighting and décor have been installed, we'll complete the finishing touches that transform a house into a home.

Following completion, you'll receive your Client Handover Pack and have the opportunity to provide feedback on your experience.
